MUSIC PRIZE   COMPETITION RULES


  • The Jacint& InocenciGuerrerFoundation hereby announces the holding of the tenth edition of the GuerrerFoundation Music Prize.
  • The Prize consists of €72,000,00 free of tax and a diploma.
  • It shall be awarded ta Spanish person or institution whose work constitutes a relevant and significant contribution tthe enrichment of Spanish music.
  • Candidatures for the Prize may be submitted by any person or institution whom the Jacint& InocenciGuerrerFoundation invites tdso, but in ncase shall applications be accepted from a person or institution whis not sinvited.
  • Proposed candidatures are tbe sent tthe Jacint& InocenciGuerrerFoundation using the pertinent form, which may be accompanied by any documentation that furnishes relevant data on the candidate. Such documentation will not be returned.
  • The closing date for submission of candidatures is 16 January 2004.
  • The Jacint& InocenciGuerrerFoundation shall appoint the members of the jury, which shall be composed of leading figures in the cultural world and be made up of a chairman, vested with a casting vote in the event of a tie, six voting members and a non-voting secretary. Jurors' names shall not be made public until the time-limit for submission of candidatures has expired.
  • The jury shall meet in the month immediately following the expiry of the designated time-limit for presentation of candidatures.
  • The jury, which shall issue its vote personally, shall be entitled tchoose from among the proposed candidates or award the Prize tany other person whfulfils the qualities required for the award thereof. In ncase may the Prize be awarded posthumously. The Jury's decision shall be final and not open tappeal.
  • Prizewinners must be present in person at the prize-giving ceremony, save where there are duly justified grounds, in which case they must designate another person tact for and on their behalf.
  • Prizewinners, if srequired, shall give a talk, recital or performance in their specialised field, on a date subsequent tthe award of the Prize.
